“ADVICE FROM A PALM TREE. Reach High. Stand Tall and Proud. Soak Up the Sun. Be Flexible. Find Your Oasis. Weather Life’s Storms.” ― Unknown
In various cultures, the palm tree represents freedom, triumphing over adversity, and peace. Growing up on the island of Jamaica, I have fond memories of towering palm trees with tasty coconut fruits. Every time I witnessed someone climb these tall, majestic
trees, my heart skipped a beat with both excitement and fear. Once their journey was over though, they would return with a delicious coconut and quenched by the life-giving water inside.
The Palm Tree has so many lessons to teach us about the therapeutic process. At first, embarking on the counselling process might feel overwhelming, and even a bit impossible. However, as we climb the tree together, the hope is you begin to see the beauty and healing this journey has to offer. Maybe you don’t feel like climbing, that’s okay too. Sitting under a palm tree can gives us shade and bring us a little slice of much needed calm. Whatever you choose, I can help you climb or learn to relax.
